Easy Network Expansion

The switch provides 2 Copper/SFP Gigabit ports for server connection on the Cat. 5 twisted-pair network or fiber optic cables. These ports can also be used to cascade the switches together to expand the number of ports available for network connections.Copper/SFP Gigabit ports provide an alternative solution to fiber-optic or copper twisted-pair wires as the transmission media, allowing you to instantly upgrade your servers to Gigabit capability without requiring you to install new, expensive fiber cables.

Plug and Play

All ports support auto-negotiation of MDI/MDIX crossover. This eliminates the need for crossover cables or uplink ports. Any port can simply plug to a workstation, a server, a hub or a switch,using a straight-through twisted-pair cable, saving you time and money. With 50 plug-and-play ports, the switch is a perfect choice for workgroups to upgrade performance in a client/server environment. The ports can be connected to workstations and servers in full-duplex, or hubs in half-duplex.

Flow Control for Secure Transmission

The DES-1050G provides 802.3x standard flow control to minimize dropped packets by sending out collision signals when the port’s receiving buffer is full. This allows you to safely deploy Gigabit servers operating at 2000 Mbps full duplex mode for simultaneous access from workstations without risk of losing data.
