Etchells Primary School aims to cultivate a lifelong love of learning and deliver a curriculm that is engaging, fun and memorable. 

They are looking to improve and embrace a digital policy for their students, by migrating towards a cloud manged solution. The school  were pursuing a solution to improve their network speed and capacity, that’s  also easy to maintain.

Challenge

Etchells School encountered significant issues with its outdated Wi-Fi network, which was unable to efficiently support the schools digital learning. This limitation led to slower access to learning resources for students. To resolve this, the school needed a revamped, robust, and scalable Wi-Fi network to fulfill current requirements and future demands.

The primary goals were to ensure seamless wireless connectivity across the entire campus, guarantee security and data integrity by segmenting the network, and implement a solution capable of supporting additional devices and increased usage without disrupting essential systems or compromising students’ e-learning experiences.

By tackling these challenges, Etchells School aimed to enhance the learning environment, providing students with faster and more reliable access to educational resources.

Solution

D-Link implemented a cloud-based solution through its Nuclias Connect platform, establishing a comprehensive wireless network featuring high-speed Wi-Fi 6 access points for optimal speed and connectivity.

  • 20x Nuclias access points DAP-X2810P were installed, delivering a cutting-edge wireless cloud-managed solution that enabled the school to create the fastest possible campus-wide network, with Power over Ethernet (PoE) included as standard. In collaboration with MGL World, D-Link meticulously planned the strategic placement of access points across the campus to ensure optimal broadcast range.
  • 1x DNH-100 Nuclias connect hardware controller a dedicated hub for centralised management
  • 1x DGS-1210-28MP Max Power Gigabit switch to provide  smart management and power for the AP’s
  • This solution was installed by our partner MGL World, who are a Managed Service Provider partner. MGL are a UK leader in the provision of technology solutions for schools, offering computing curriculum consultancy, technology training, in-class support, technical support, hardware solutions, internet service provision, school phone systems and school websites.

Results

The D-Link Nuclias platform has provided a fast and robust solution for Etchells School’s students and staff, allowing them to fully utilise advancements in e-learning technology seamlessly.

The remote network management has also alleviated the burden on the on-site IT team. Etchells School collaborates with MGL World, a trusted partner for businesses and educational institutions seeking to leverage technology to drive growth, innovation, and competitive advantage.
