D-Link has expanded its video surveillance range with an outdoor fixed dome camera with colour night vision to meet business security needs. The launch of D-Link’s HD Outdoor Fixed Dome Camera with Colour Night Vision (DCS-6315) responds to global trends highlighted by IHS Technology, which anticipates that the global video surveillance market will grow by more than 12 per cent this year.
The camera is D-Link’s first day and night outdoor dome camera with colour night vision, ideal for businesses looking for around-the-clock reassurance that their premises are secure. Incorporating LowLight+ technology and an integrated infrared illuminator, the camera delivers outstanding performance to capture images with life-like colour even in near dark conditions, as well as up to 15 metres in complete darkness with infrared illumination.
According to the latest 'Trends for 2014 - Video Surveillance Trends for the Year Ahead' white paper from IHS Technology, much of the market demand is driven by fixed dome cameras. D-Link’s new camera brings all the benefits and more that businesses would expect from a fixed dome camera. Its compact design makes it ideal for easy installation and discrete monitoring. To withstand tough outdoor conditions, the camera is housed in a robust vandal-proof IK10-certified and IP68-certified weather-proof casing, to prevent damage from vandals or heavy weather conditions, such as strong winds and heavy rain.
"Demand from businesses is a big factor driving the global video surveillance market. D-Link is committed to meeting the security needs of those businesses, from offering feature-packed, affordable cameras to the full infrastructure for business surveillance set-up," said Kevin Wen, President of D-Link Europe Ltd. "Fixed dome cameras are a popular choice for their compact, discrete form. Now, businesses will be able to capture high-quality images at all times of day with our new model incorporating colour night vision technology."
The one-megapixel image sensor allows users to record footage in high-quality resolution, up to HD 720p, for assurance that detailed images will be captured. Using built-in Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) technology, the camera corrects difficult lighting conditions – such as the midday sun or dark cloud cover – capturing clear images where many other cameras would struggle.
The camera also supports two-way audio for security personnel to warn off trespassers or vandals, or alternatively for use as an entry system. A microSD card slot is available for use as local camera side storage, as well as the ability to continue recording in the event of network outage.
