Firefox 52 drops support for Netscape Plugin API (NPAPI). Plugins as mydlink plugin, Silverlight, Java and Acrobat are no longer supported. mydlink portal uses mydlink plugin to access mydlink devices, and since mydlink plugin no longer works on Firefox 52, Firefox users are stuck at the plugin download page. Please note that customers using Firefox 51 are not affected.

 

Firefox users may download and install Firefox 52 ESR (Extended Support Release) which still support mydlink plugin.

The Firefox 52 and Firefox ESR browser could be co-exist on the same computer. We’d suggest user to keep both browser version on their computer.

Users may follow below steps to install Firefox ESR on Windows and Mac OS,

Windows 7 

1.   Please download Firefox ESR at https://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-52.0esr-SSL&os=win&lang=en-US 

2.   Backup exist Firefox profile. User may follow instruction athttps://support.mozilla.org/t5/Install-and-Update/Back-up-and-restore-information-in-Firefox-profiles/ta-p/2045.

3.   Click the .exe file to install Firefox ESR, select Custom to install the Firefox ESR to another directory if you want to keep both Firefox 52 and Firefox 52 ESR.

4.   Create the other directory such as “Mozilla Firefox ESR” to install the Firefox ESR, click Next to complete the installation.

5.  Open the Firefox ESR browser, go to www.mydlink.com, click Allow so that mydlink plugin can run on your computer.

 

Mac OS

 

1.  Please download Firefox ESR at https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/.

2.  Backup exist Firefox profile. User may follow instruction athttps://support.mozilla.org/t5/Install-and-Update/Back-up-and-restore-information-in-Firefox-profiles/ta-p/2045.

3.  Double-click the .dmg file and then drag Firefox.app to the Application folder.

4.  You can keep both Firefox and Firefox ESR on your Mac computer.

5.  Go to Application, you will find Firefox ESR been installed as Firefox 2.app.

6.  Open the Firefox ESR browser, go to www.mydlink.com, click Allow so that mydlink plugin can run on your computer.
