Euronics stores across Europe to offer mydlink Home, D-Link’s range of smart home products

12 July, 2016

D-Link today announced a retail partnership with Euronics, a network of over 11,000 independent electrical retailers across Europe, trading under locally trusted and leading retail brands such as Euronics, Boulanger, Selexion, Sharaf DG, Foxtrot, and Teknosa among others. The agreement enables the Euronics group, Europe's second largest retailer of consumer electronics, to take advantage of the growing smart home opportunity across each of the 35 countries in which the network operates.

Euronics has been operating for 25 years in the region, enjoying significant and continuous year-on-year growth. It reported revenues of €19.0 billion in 2015. Smart home technology offers significant rewards for the innovation focussed international group, as this market segment promises major growth. Estimates currently predict the global smart home market will be worth just under $122 billion, from just under $47 billion in 2015*.

“Consumers are seeking smart home technology to make their homes more secure and to make their lives easier. This sector presents a significant growth opportunity to retailers, helping consumers understand the possibilities with smart home, how devices can work together, and to help them install and maintain their smart home set-up,” said Kevin Wen, President, D-Link Europe. “Working with Euronics on this across Europe is testament to the scale of the opportunity.”

Consumers will be able to purchase mydlink Home products through Euronics stores across Europe. The agreement will initially focus on core markets such as Italy, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Spain, and France. In these markets, mydlink Home products are planned to feature in-store, with point of sale (POS) areas dedicated to exploring the possibilities of smart home technology. Further expansion is expected across EMEA and the CIS.

“Our collaboration fits perfectly within our strategy of being a trusted advisor in the innovative world of electronics. D-Link has a strong history in networking technology and offers a solid range of smart products that show the benefits to consumers, are easy to use, and are interoperable with the largest IoT platforms today,” said John Olsen, Managing Director, Euronics International Ltd.
