mydlink™ Cloud Service App now available on Windows Phone

Service tops one million registered users

25 October, 2013

With its mydlink cloud service now topping one million registered users,  D-Link has now announced its apps are available for Windows Phone. mydlink is the cloud-based service that adds unmatched value to D-Link’s award-winning Cloud Cameras, Cloud Routers, and Cloud Storage devices by making it possible to access them and stream media remotely over the Internet using a smartphone or tablet.

Every day, countless parents around the world use mydlink-enabled Cloud Cameras and their smartphone to check on a sleeping baby from the kitchen, look after elderly family members, or just see what’s happening in the back yard any time, day or night. New mydlink-enabled Cloud Routers offer next-generation 802.11ac Wi-Fi for the smoothest video streaming, online gaming and VoIP calls, and also allow parents to view their children’s browsing history or block a child’s wireless device when it’s time for homework or bed. mydlink makes it easy to do all these things and more, with support for up to 99 devices per user account.

“When we launched the mydlink cloud service in 2010, our goal was to take the complexity out of IP cameras and wireless networks,” said Paul Routledge, Senior Business Manager, D-Link UKI. “Now with more than one million people using millions of Cloud Cameras, Cloud Routers, and Cloud Storage devices to make life better every day, we are proud to have an extremely popular and mature service on the market.”

A new mydlink-enabled Cloud Camera or other device needs to be registered with mydlink in order to use the service. Once the device is physically plugged in and connected to the network it can be configured from the setup wizard on a Windows PC or Mac. A free mydlink account can be created during the setup process, or the device can be added to an existing account. At this point the device may be accessed from a web browser on any Internet-connected computer. Optionally, mydlink Lite or other mydlink apps can be installed on a smartphone or tablet for remote access, device management, and media streaming any time.

The full suite of mydlink mobile apps, including mydlink Lite for iPhone® and iPod® Touch and mydlink+ for iPad®, are now available on the App Store. The Android™ versions of both apps can be found on Google Play and Windows Phone apps have just been released.
