D-Link and TCEA Announce 'Secure Your Schools' IP Surveillance Grant Program

Applications Now Open for Single Qualifying School or District to Receive a D-Link IP Surveillance System

D-Link, a leading provider of high-end networking solutions, with Texas Computer Education Association (TCEA) today announced the 'Secure Your Schools' Grant Program, which will award a single qualifying school or district with a complete D-Link® IP surveillance system in the 2011-2012 school year to help keep students safe on campus. Applications are now being accepted, and the winning school or district will be notified during an award ceremony at the TCEA conference Feb. 6-10, 2012, in Austin, Texas.

“D-Link has been a long-time supporter of TCEA’s mission through its participation in our events, always demonstrating its commitment to educators and students,” said Lori Gracey, executive director, TCEA. “The need to secure students, staff and property in school districts is becoming more obvious and we are excited to partner with D-Link to offer this grant to a school or district in need.”

The Secure Your Schools Grant is open to new or existing TCEA members that demonstrate a true need for IP-based surveillance and also have a network infrastructure in place to support the Grant hardware package. Applications can be submitted on D-Link’s grant application webpage, and will be accepted now through Dec. 31. In January 2012, D-Link and TCEA representatives will review the applications and select a winning school or district, which will be announced in an awards ceremony at TCEA 2012.

The Grant provides a complete end-to-end solution including nine IP cameras (seven indoor and two outdoor), a NVR (Network Video Recorder) for surveillance footage storage, video management software and a network switch. The complete package includes:

D-Link will also host a webinar on Nov. 17 at 1 p.m. Pacific Standard Time entitled, “The Economics of School Surveillance,” featuring Pam Alvarez, technology director from Colorado City Independent School District, and Vance Kozik, D-Link’s director of product marketing, IP Surveillance. D-Link will also provide resources such as white papers and success stories specifically for K-12 IT directors to better educate TCEA members on the benefits and important of deploying an IP Surveillance system in education environments.
