D-Link’s first business cloud-camera range revolutionises IP surveillance security
Full 24/7 anywhere access and control gives businesses complete peace of mind

D-Link has launched its first series of innovative cloud-enabled IP surveillance cameras that gives small businesses a choice of products to fit their security needs. All of the cameras in the new range allow businesses to access, view and manage their camera feeds from anywhere, through a browser or the mydlink mobile app. The cloud security suite, built around the mydlink cloud infrastructure, also enables authorised parties such as outside security companies or internal security guards to remotely gain complete visibility of a company’s premises.
This innovative approach to company security allows organisations to monitor building perimeters, internal rooms and outside spaces at any time, from anywhere. The feed can be recorded to network video recorder (NVR) hardware, or to removable storage as each camera is fitted with an SD card slot, which also act as a contingency if the network fails. By using this range of devices, companies will require fewer cameras and can achieve a quick, low-requirement set-up, all of which reduce the cost of ownership and the burden on the network.
Kevin Wen, President of D-Link Europe, commented: “Security is of paramount importance to businesses and they need to have the best systems in place, to act as a deterrent and offer peace of mind. In the current economic climate businesses can’t afford to fall victim to theft – but neither can they afford to spend large sums on security systems to protect their assets. The inclusion of cloud capabilities to these new cameras adds a new dimension of flexibility and management for users. The D-Link range of cameras, storage and networking all seamlessly link together to form a professional-grade surveillance system at a highly competitive price.”
The performance of these cameras is enhanced when paired with D-Link’s cloud-enabled routers and storage products, thanks to features like ‘Zero Configuration’ set-up, which enables users to easily connect D-Link Cloud Cameras to any Cloud Router and the camera will automatically appear in their mydlink account the next time they log in.
The DCS-6010L is D-Link’s first 360° fisheye fixed-dome camera, aimed at businesses of all sizes. The IP-based camera can monitor whole floors or outside areas with a single unit, replacing four or more cameras with just one and enabling greater monitoring and surveillance functionality. The camera was a winner of the 2012 red dot product design awards.
The DCS-2132L is a day-night indoor camera. The IP camera’s wireless set-up means that it can be placed anywhere within the business premises and is infra-red enabled, to record any time of the day or night.
The DCS-7010L is D-Link’s outdoor day-night camera. Its infra-red capability makes it the ideal 24/7 surveillance unit for perimeter monitoring for businesses. As with its companions, it is fully cloud enabled and can be quickly set-up to alert the business owner or a third party monitoring company of any movement around a company’s building.
The new D-Link cameras are plug and play and can quickly be added to any wireless or wired network – they can also be run via Power Over Ethernet (PoE). This easy set-up and operation means less cabling, no electricians for implementation, fewer cameras to cover the premises and reduced storage requirement. They can also be programmed with motion detection or timed on/off, as well as masking and secure access to certain feeds. These features, combined with the ability to log into the camera remotely over the network to manage feeds and schedules, give businesses the flexibility and security they need for complete peace-of-mind, whether they are on the premises or not.
The cameras also feature two-way audio, which enables businesses to communicate with visitors and/or employees, as well as warn off intruders, for instance announcing that police are on the way. To increase the speed of response, email alert notifications can be set up in case of motion detectors being triggered, for example.
