How do I create a VLAN on my DGS-3120 Series Switch?

Step 1: Log into the DGS-3120 Web Interface
  • Default IP: 10.90.90.90
  • Default Username: admin
  • Default Password: <blank>

Step 2:
On the left panel, select L2 Features >  VLAN
> 802.1Q VLAN Settings

Step 3: Click on the Add/Edit VLAN tab

  • VID: Enter the VLAN ID <1-4094>
  • VLAN Name: Enter a name for the VLAN
  • Unit: Select the Switch in Stack to create vlan on (if Stacked)
Step 4: Select the ports to be included in the VLAN
  • Untag: Defines the port is an untagged VLAN member. Packets forwarded by the port are untagged.
  • Tag: Defines the port as a tagged member of a VLAN. All packets forwarded by the interface are tagged. The packets contain VLAN information.
  • Forbidden: Defines the port VLAN membership, even if GVRP indicates the port is to be added.
  • Not Member: Indicates that the port is not a member of the VLAN.

Step 5: Click Apply

The VLAN is now created.

Step 6: Click Edit on each of your Previous VLANs to remove overlapping ports

Step 7: Mark each overlapping Port as Not Member

Step 8:
Click Apply

Setup Complete


Note:

The PVID (Port VLAN ID) of each port will automatically adjust to the New VLAN. No configuration is needed.
