Note: The access point firmware upgrade will require a TFTP server application to upload the firmware to the APs.Step 1: Download the firmware for the DWC-1000 from
http://www.dlink.com. Save and extract the firmware file to a known location on the computer. Copy the firmware file to the TFTP root folder for your TFTP Server.
Step 2: Log into the setup page of the DWC-1000.
Step 3: Go to the
Setup tab. Select
AP Management on the left, and the click on
Software Download.
Step 4: The DWL-8600AP and DWL-3600AP/6600AP have separate sections for their firmware upgrades. Enter the following information into the
Access Point Software Download page:

Server Address: IP address of the computer running the TFTP Server

File Path: If the firmware file was placed into the TFTP Server root folder, nothing will need to be entered. Otherwise, the folder will path will need to be entered.

File Name: The full filename for the firmware.

Group Size: The DWC-1000 will be able to upgrade up to 6 APs at once. If you have more than 6 APs, the process will need to be repeated for the remaining APs.
Click on
Start to initiate the upgrades. The firmware upgrades can take around 10-12 minutes to complete. Do not power off or disconnect the APs during this time.

Step 5: Once the firmware upgrades are completed, the page will refresh and show the results of the upgrades. If any of the access points failed to upgrade, they will be shown in the results.
