Behind the Haussmann façade dating from the end of the 19th century, the interior decor of this former private Hotel located in the heart of Paris, has been created and designed in a spirit of authenticity and comfort. The hotel‘s 40 bedrooms and 7 junior suites boast a classic and immaculate design along with an elegant and warm atmosphere. Every day the hotel team welcome an affluent clientèle from overseas. Therefore the establishment needs to guarantee a flawless security system.

The D-Link solution

“We are working with trustworthy people. One of our hotel colleagues recommended the company Advancedge to us as he had been working with them for a long time because of the high-performance products they use for installations“ explains Fayna Ait-Said, President General Manager of Hotel Mayfair. Created in 2005 by a young architect speciali¬sing in CAD (computer-aided design) and DTP (desktop publishing), Advancedge supports the development and growth of businesses by enabling them to rapidly access and master new technologies. The hotel‘s technical manager contacted Advancedge in February 2015 to specify the hotel‘s requirements more precisely and to define the locations of the hardware. The plans were validated in March 2015 and the installation was completed in full in April 2015 including the cabling and installation of the cameras. A total of 23 D-Link cameras were installed throughout the hotel, 21 full HD DCS-6314 dome cameras located inside the hotel and 2 HD DCS-7110 bullet cameras outside. They are also supplied with a distribution cabinet, three DNR-326 recorders for video storage and two DGS-3120 24PC switches for video distribution. “I have been working with D-Link for seve¬ral years and what differentiates it from its competitors is the richness of its product range in terms of switches, cameras and recorders. Technology at the service of the hotel sector

The D-Link cameras enable unlimited camera recording as soon as adequate storage capa¬city is installed. This means that any incident can be identified rapidly and neutralised by the hotel‘s authorised personnel. “For us, the installation of a video surveillance system not only enabled us to protect our clients but also our employees” explains Fayna Ait-Said. “We do not have security guards to ensure the security of the hotel as it is the reception staff who monitor the entrances and exits. It is very difficult to be vigilant, particularly when the hotel is full. It was therefore very important for us to install effective video surveillance equipment for protection purposes“ she concluded.
