On 1 September 2023, Epatra Benelux, a leading distributor of Smart Office Solutions, hosted the Smart Office Event. This event demonstrated advanced technology solutions that make offices smar ter and more efficient. One of the key messages of this event was the importance of a reliable Wi-Fi solution as the foundation of any Smart Office solution. From Epatra’s already successful partnership with D-Link, the idea was born to demonstrate that importance in practice and create an event Wi-Fi solution based on D-Link’s Nuclias Connect portfolio.

A Smart Office solution often includes several products and services from different vendors. Whether it is smart meeting rooms, IoT devices, security systems or other innovations, a reliable Wi-Fi connection is the backbone of all these technologies. Smart Office solutions cannot function optimally without a stable and fast Wi-Fi connection. During the event, Wi-Fi was essential for demonstrations at the various stands, but, in addition, applications were demonstrated in several plenary sessions. Interruptions and hiccups during these presentations would have devastated the tech distributor’s image.

The role of D-Link

Realising the crucial importance of Wi-Fi connectivity, Epatra chose D-Link as an exclusive networking partner within their Smart Office Solutions offering.

D-Link is known worldwide for its expertise in networking solutions and offered a “pop-up” Nuclias Connect Wi-Fi solution that ensured the intensive network usage during the Smart Office event ran smoothly.

Nuclias Connect products used

The following Nuclias Connect products from D-Link were used to provide reliable and highperformance Wi-Fi for the Smart Office event:

  1. DNH-100: This is the heart of the Nuclias Connect sys tem, providing cent ra l management and monitoring of the Wi-Fi network. The Nuclias platform offers the possibility of segmenting the Wi-Fi network into multiple virtual networks without providing additional access points. The DNH-100 offers an intuitive interface for configuration and monitoring and provides the ability to assign high priority to the most essential Wi-Fi networks.
  2. DSR-250v2: The Unified Services VPN Router is a crucial link for a secure connection between the Nuclias Connect platform and the remote network or on-site internet service provider. Dynamic filtering of web content and applications and a router-based VPN are available for optimal protection. If multiple external connections are available, they can be linked redundantly or as a balanced outbound connection.
  3. 4x DAP-X2810: These access points (APs) offer excellent coverage and wireless performance. They support Wi - Fi 6 technology for high speeds and reliable connectivity. The transition to an adjacent access point is seamless, thanks to fast roaming.
  4. 1x DAP-X2850: This powerful access point enhanced Wi-Fi coverage in strategic locations during the event. Dual-band, 4x4 MIMO, band-steering & airtime fairness technology enables even faster speeds and more Wi-Fi connections.

The result

Thanks to D-Link’s Nuclias Connect Wi-Fi solution, Epatra’s Smart Office event ran smoothly. Participants were able to use various Smart Office solutions from different vendors seamlessly.

Throughout the event, there was continuous insight into the load of the various Wi-Fi networks. Availability was guaranteed at all times based on priority per network. Therefore, the relatively limited internet connection at the exhibition venue was a manageable risk.
