Description

The D-Link DSM-604H Central Home Drive is a 40GB network attached storage device for the digital home. It allows home users to access a central drive for sharing and storing family photos, digital music and other types of files.

D-Link, a leader in the networking industry, introduces the MediaLounge™ DSM-600 Series of Central Home Drives. The 40GB DSM-604H Central Home Drive is portable and removable external Fast Ethernet hard disk drive. Connect one directly to a PC for additional personal storage space or add it to a local area network so that everyone on the network can access the drive. Also available is 20GB DSM-602H Central Home Drive.

The DSM-604H Central Home Drive provides a fast and easy way to add high-performance storage to your digital home, school or small business network. This device is ideal for storing digital photos, movies, music, or other files.

The DSM-604H Central Home Drive features both UPnP™ (for devices running Windows XP and Me) and Rendezvous™ (for Mac OS X or Linux systems.) Since the drive is immediately visible and available to everyone on the network, you can use it to share files or collaborate on projects. The DSM-604H Central Home Drive is also hot-swappable so you can connect and disconnect it from a network at any time.

The DSM-604H Central Home Drive adheres to the Universal Plug & Play AV (UPnP AV) specification, allowing it to communicate seamlessly with other UPnP AV media devices.

The Fast Ethernet port on the device is Auto MDI/MDI-X, accepting both straight-through and crossover Ethernet cables for high-speed network connectivity. With up to 10/100Mbps data transfer speeds, stream music and Videos in real-time or instantly retrieve files from the Central Home Drive.

The MediaLounge DSM-600 Series provides added convenience for networking as a simple and speedy storage solution.
