The DP-G301 is an ultra-compact wireless print server that enables a single parallel printer to be shared on a 802.11g wireless network and is compatible with Windows and Mac.
D-Link®, an industry leader in wireless networking, introduces the DP-G301 Wireless G Print Server. The DP-G301 is an ultra-compact print server that enables a single parallel printer to be shared on a wireless network. Now, everyone on your network can enjoy the benefits of readily accessing a printer with the convenience of 802.11g wireless connectivity.
Having a network-dedicated printer enables everyone to save time by not having to go through a dedicated computer for printing. It eliminates having to transfer files from one computer to another, or having to connect/disconnect a printer each time printing is required. With the DP-G301, everyone on the network is empowered to print to a shared printer at any time. The DP-G301 also frees up the computer that was previously dedicated for printing to take on more useful tasks. Energy consumption will be reduced as well since the computer can be turned off when it is not in use.
The DP-G301 is designed to make installation simple. It has a built-in IEEE 1284 Parallel Port connector that connects directly to your printer without the hassle of using any cables. Its compact size makes placement of the DP-G301 easy—even in areas with limited space. And with the freedom of wireless, you can place the printer where it is most convenient for everyone to use. This wireless print server includes a LAN port to give you additional flexibility for wired network connectivity.
The DP-G301 supports all the major networking protocols such as TCP/IP, NetBEUI, AppleTalk, and EtherTalk. It is compatible with computers running Windows® XP/2000 and Mac OS® X v10.4.3 operating systems.
With the user-friendly web-based setup, you can quickly configure the DP-G301 Print Server from any computer on the network. For the advanced user, D-Link’s PS Admin Utility is also included to configure the DP-G301 for Windows-based systems.
