The D-Link^® ShareCenter^® 2-Bay Network Storage device is the perfect way to store, safeguard, and share your digital documents, music, videos, and photos with anyone in your network. The tool-less design lets you easily insert up to 2 SATA drives without any tools. Plus, the DNS-321 is an adaptable solution, allowing you to start off with one SATA hard disk drive (HDD) and add an additional drive as your storage needs grow.

Up to Two Hard Drives Worth of Storage
The DNS-321-1TB comes with one 1 Terabyte (1TB) SATA hard drive¹ - plenty of space to store tons of digital photos, thousands of hours of digital music, or hundreds of DVD-quality movies². Both the DNS-321 and DNS-321-1TB are expandable; you can add up to 2 drives to the DNS-321 or add an additional disk drive to the DNS-321-1TB for more capacity. Adding a drive is a breeze with the D-Link tool-less design.

Stream Digital Media Content up to UPnPTM AV Compatible Media Players
The DNS-321 supports the latest Peer-to-Peer (P2P) so you can download and store digital media from the Internet without the need for a dedicated PC to be turned on or connected. The DNS-321 connects directly to your home or office network and acts as a media hub for P2P-enabled content. The DNS-321 also acts as a UPnP™ AV media server³ that streams media to a compatible player such as the PlayStation^® 3, Microsoft^® Xbox 360™ and D-Link’s MediaLounge™ product line.

Protection, Performance, and Flexibility
Utilizing RAID technology, the DNS-321 gives you the option to protect data in the event of a hard drive failure. Standard mode creates two separately accessible hard drives. JBOD combines both drives in a linear fashion for maximum space efficiency. RAID 0 combines both drives in a ‘striped’ configuration, splitting data evenly across the hard drives to provide the highest performance. RAID 1 causes two drives to mirror each other, providing maximum protection. If one drive fails, the unaffected drive in the partition will continue to operate normally. Once you replace the failed drive, RAID 1 mirroring will resume and both drives will mirror each other again.

Simplified Management
The web interface allows you to set schedules and rules including incremental backups and storage quotas for specific users and groups. The included backup software allows you to automatically back up data to the DNS-321, creating a failsafe protection solution from accidental data loss on your PC. With Gigabit connectivity, you can transfer large media files through your network faster. The DNS-321 also features a built-in FTP server4 to access files through the Internet, enabling you to manage your files from anywhere in the world.

Formatted drive capacity for RAID 1 operation is dependent on the drive capacity of the smallest drive. May not work with older generation SATA drives.
