How can I reset the password to log in the DWS-4026?

To reset the password, do the following: 

Step 1: Connect the console cable and log in the CLI.

Step 2:  Power cycle the switch

Step 3:  In the CLI, as soon as the switch starts booting, you will be given 2 seconds to select a choice to start the operational code or to start the boot menu: Select Option 2- Start Boot Menu

Step 4:  From the Boot Menu, select option 16 to reset the password
 
Boot Menu Version (Date):  15 OCT 2009
 
1  - Start operational code
2  - Change baud rate
3  - Retrieve event log using XMODEM
4  - Load new operational code using XMODEM
5  - Display operational code vital product data
6  - Run flash diagnostics
7  - Update boot code
8  - Delete operational code
9  - Reset the system
10 - Restore configuration to factory defaults (delete config files)
11 - Activate Backup Image
16 - Restore Password to factory default and start operational code

Step 5:   Once the switch is boot up you can use the default ID "admin" with no Password to login to the switch
