How to upgrade the firmware on the DWL-8600AP (managed)?

If the DWL-8600AP is managed by the DWS-4026, you should upgrade the firmware from the DWS-4026. You will require a TFTP server application to complete the upgrade.

The following steps show how to perform the upgrade from the DWS-4026 interface:
 

1) Log into the DWS-4026 web interface.
 

2) Click the WLAN > Administration > AP Management > Software Downloads.

3) Set the following fields:

 

Server Address: address of the TFTP server with the firmware file

File Path: leave path empty if the firmware is located in the TFTP server root directory

File Name: full filename of the firmware file

Group Size: Number of APs that will upgrade at the same time. This number will prevent the server from being flood with too many requests at the same time.

Managed AP: Select All or the desired APs to be upgraded.

 

4) Click Submit to continue with the firmware upgrade. The upgrade process will take about 12 minutes to complete, and a status of completion will be shown on the page.
