D-Link is giving consumers and small businesses reliable access to their most important information in a compact, affordable package, with the launch of the ShareCenter™+ 4-Bay Cloud Network Storage Enclosure (DNS-340L).

The Network Attached Storage (NAS) device creates a secure personal cloud that enables users to store, safeguard, share and remotely access or stream their digital documents, music, videos and photos. This can be done from anywhere in the world through the mydlink™ portal via any web browser or using the free and user-friendly mydlink™ Access-NAS app.

With four drive bays, supporting 6TB hard drives, the ShareCenter™+ 4-Bay Cloud Network Storage Enclosure can support up to 24TB of storage. This means there is plenty of space for videos, photos, music and documents. All this content is easily indexed and organised thanks to the built-in smart library.

"We have ever more personal and work-related content in our daily lives and the ability to access it from anywhere has become almost a necessity.  However protecting our data is a challenge. We all create and take digital content with us every day but few people regularly save this data by backing it up locally.  You can use cloud-based services to act as a repository for your information but with the dedicated mydlink™ Apps and ShareCenter™ software users can easily protect their data since unlike other “cloud” solutions you know where your data resides. For those that want complete control and access to their information, D-Link’s new ShareCenter™+ 4-Bay Cloud Network Storage Enclosure is an ideal cloud storage solution," said Paul Routledge, Sales and Marketing Manager UK.

"The NAS device provides significant storage drive capacity and flexible options for end users, including a growing library of third party applications. This ensures reliable access to centrally stored and shared digital media that's accessible from any device, at any time and in the most useful way."

The ShareCenter™+ 4-Bay Cloud Network Storage Enclosure also offers superior performance with two Gigabit Ethernet ports for high speed data transfer and failover. A USB 3.0 port ensures fast data transfer from connected USB drives. In addition, the mydlink™ Access-NAS app supports two-way data syncing, ensuring users have access to the latest data on their ShareCenter™ and devices all the time.

Thanks to D-Link's Zero Configuration feature, when used in conjunction with a mydlink™-enabled router, the NAS will automatically be available on the mydlink™ app or secure online portal as soon as the device is connected.

Functionality can be extended even further through the add-on interface, allowing users to customise the NAS with extensive add-on applications, such as D-Link’s Surveillance Center, making it easy to connect and record video from any mydlink™-enabled cameras without complicated setup. Popular third-party cloud-platforms like Google Drive and Dropbox are also integrated, enabling you to recapture, retain and access your information locally.

Whilst incorporating the simplicity of mydlink™, the ShareCenter™+ 4-Bay Cloud Network Storage Enclosure has the sophistication of a business product.  To ensure no data is lost, an extensive range of hard drive modes are supported (Standard, JBOD and RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 1+0).  A non-expert user can choose the configuration best suited to their needs.  Data is further protected by the integrated volume encryption.  In the event of a drive failure hot-swappable bays allow a failed drive to easily be replaced without shutting the enclosure down or impacting user access.  For small to midsize business, iSCSI support enables the ShareCenter™+ 4-Bay Cloud Network Storage Enclosure to become the centre for your business world by consolidating not only all your file and print data but also providing a fast, secure, low-cost storage option for your business servers and virtual machines.
