Description

The D-Link Broadband Phone Service VoIP Router (DVG-1402S) allows standard phones to be used as broadband VoIP phones.

D-Link introduces the DVG-1402S Broadband Phone Service VoIP Router. The DVG-1402S is designed for businesses or homes that want to take advantage of Internet connectivity and Voice Over IP using a single gateway.

The DVG-1402S Broadband Phone Service VoIP Router enables standard phones to be used for voice calls over the Internet. Telephone calls made over the Internet (VoIP) maximizes your broadband investment and is a cost-effective way to make phone calls. Enjoy low-cost long-distance calling with the DVG-1402S.

Using your existing broadband connection, the DVG-1402S connects to your cable or DSL modem. Connect up to two regular phones to the DVG-1402S, and with an appropriate Internet phone service plan, you are ready to make VoIP calls. With the DVG-1402S, calling over the Internet is simple and works just like a regular telephone. The DVG-1402S is compatible with several convenient call features such as caller ID, voicemail, call waiting, and three way calling.

The DVG-1402S Broadband Phone Service VoIP Router also acts like a router for your network, providing room to connect up to 4 computers to share a Broadband Internet connection. With all the essential features in a router and featuring PPPoE support for DSL accounts, router functionality for access to the Internet, and firewall features to keep unwanted intruders out of the network, the DVG-1402S is a great all-around solution for the home, office, or your small business.

You must choose an Internet (VoIP) Phone Service Plan and sign up for service. VoIP phone plans, rates, and features may vary depending on VoIP Phone Service Provider. D-Link Systems, Inc. is not a Telephone Service Provider or VoIP Phone Service Provider.
Note that an electrical power outage or a broadband provider outage will prevent operation of the VoIP phone, including for emergency purposes (e.g. calling 911).

I use the VOIP router as my primary phone service. The quality is clear and the setup is pretty much plug and play. I recommend this over other brands that I have tried that did not fit the needs that I had in mind.
