D-Link is set to help overcome the frustrations of many home owners across Europe with the launch of a new generation of PowerLine Starter Kits.

Many people experience the problem of poor Internet connectivity at home in areas such as the attic, basement, or garage. Dropped video calls, slow web page loading or no connection at all are just some of the frustrations faced every day.

D-Link PowerLine Starter Kits are an easy and affordable way to overcome these problems. They work by turning virtually any existing wall power outlet into a powerful network connection to extend network capabilities significantly within seconds. D-Link PowerLine Kits make it easy to connect all your devices in the home for high-bandwidth applications such as online gaming, HD video streaming or to access files, music and the web. The products don’t require any additional cables or complex set-up, they support high definition content, and have a discreet design that blends nicely into the home.

D-Link is launching four new PowerLine kits to make it even easier to create a high-speed network in the home using existing electrical wiring. The kits launching today are; PowerLine AV2 1000 HD Gigabit Starter Kit, PowerLine AV2 1000 HD Gigabit Passthrough Kit, PowerLine AV 500 HD Mini Starter Kit, and PowerLine AV 500 HD Passthrough Mini Starter Kit. Using the latest HomePlug AV2 industry standard technology, the PowerLine AV2 1000 kits offer speeds of up to 1000Mbps.

“Every home is different, yet no matter where people are in their home, they want to be able to connect to the Internet,” said Kevin Wen, President of D-Link Europe Ltd. “People want a high-speed, high quality experience, so they can easily stream video, shop online or use gaming consoles without any delay or interruption. The design of many homes means there are often spots that have weak wireless connectivity. No-one wants to rewire their home or put up with black spots, so this generation of D-Link PowerLine adapters that you just plug into a wall socket offers a perfect solution to the problem.”

The PowerLine adapters offer a high level of security: an encryption key can be quickly configured to protect against unauthorised wire-tapping. They also feature a power saving mode that can automatically place the adapter in sleep mode, reducing power usage significantly.

In addition, the pass through options for both the AV2 1000 and AV 500 PowerLine adapters enables homeowners to continue using the electrical socket as a power supply for additional devices without them being affected by the PowerLine connection.
