D-LINK BRINGS AFFORDABLE NEXT-GENERATION CONNECTIVITY TO BUSINESSES WITH LATEST

Businesses can achieve unparalleled speed and bandwidth and the flexibility to manage and scale their Wi-Fi network

D-Link today launches a Wireless AC Unified Access Point, designed to bring the fastest Wireless AC speeds and unparalleled bandwidth to businesses at an affordable price point. This means businesses can easily carry out bandwidth-intensive tasks without interruption including transferring large media or design files, working in cloud applications and voice and video IP calls.

Cloud-based applications, mobile devices and connected devices all use increasing levels of bandwidth in the modern business, meaning organisations face a greater challenge to ensure the reliability and efficiency of their Wi-Fi network. The Wireless AC1200 Dual-Band Unified Access Point (DWL-6610AP) brings the benefits of Wireless AC technology, delivering reliable, ultra-fast wireless performance (up to 1,200 Mbps combined).

In addition, beamforming guarantees greater coverage from the Unified Access Point. Meanwhile two concurrent wireless bands and band steering technology help to manage traffic on the network, bringing down potential congestion or waiting time.

“Disruptions on a Wi-Fi network are not acceptable today, in any size of organisation. They need to guarantee high-performance Wi-Fi that reaches all corners of the business and can cope as more connected ‘things’ and data-intensive applications vie for bandwidth,” said Kevin Wen, President of D-Link Europe Ltd. “This extremely affordable, high-performance Unified Access Point offers reliable and wide-coverage connectivity to eliminate network disruption. It also provides the reassurance of easy management and scalability as the business grows.”

For businesses that lack the resources to handle extensive network management, and require effortless management, up to eight Unified Access Points can be deployed on the network which form a self-configuring cluster.  Within this set-up, the same configuration can be applied to all access points once the first is configured.  In addition, RF resource management and security are managed centrally, aiding the early identification of potential interference or vulnerabilities in the network.

When working in conjunction with a D-Link Wireless Controller or Unified Switch, it can form part of a deployment of between six and 1,024 access points with self-optimising and self-healing network capabilities. This provides high flexibility and wireless network stability for administrators that need to create and easily manage a medium-to-large scale Wi-Fi network, expand an existing network, or are looking to upgrade from old wireless N technology.

The Unified Access Point comes in a small, discreet casing which can be wall or ceiling mounted. Plus, Power over Ethernet (PoE) enables easy installation in hard to reach places.
