How do I setup my ADSL router for Internet connection with NO NAT IP Un-numbered?

Step 1. Open up a web browser and type in the IPaddress of the ADSL Router (default is 192.168.1.1).Press Enter.

Step 2. Enter the Login nameand password (default is admin/admin). Click onLogin.

Step 3. Click on the Setuptab.

Step 4. Click on the ManagementIP on the left. Configure the following:

  • IP address - enter the IP address for therouter out of your public IP range
  • Subnet mask - enter the subnet mask
  • Default gateway - leave default
  • Hostname - enter the desired hostname
  • Domain name - enter the desired domainname

Click on Apply when done.

Step 5. If your PC has a dynamic IP addressthen you may need to release and renew the IP address if it has notrenewed automatically. If your PC has got a statically assigned IPaddress then you will need to change the address to an IP addressin the same range.

Step 6. Open up a browser and type in newmanagement IP address of the router. PressEnter.

Step 7. Login with the username and password(default is admin/admin).

Step 8. Click on the Setup tabat the top. Click on Connection 1.

Step 9. Configure the following for yourconnection:

  • Type - Set the connection Type to PPPoA (asused in the UK)
  • Name - Type in the name for theconnection
  • Options - Uncheck the NAT and Firewalloptions
  • Encapsulation - set to ISP recommendedsettings (generally VC in the UK)
  • Username - Type in the ISP login username
  • Password - Type in the login password
  • Keep alive - leave default
  • MAX Fail - leave default
  • MRU - leave default
  • Set Route - enable set route
  • VPI - set to ISP recommended settings (i.e. 0)(UK ADSL commonly uses VPI=0 and VCI=38)
  • VCI - set to ISP recommended settings (i.e.38) (UK ADSL commonly uses VPI=0 and VCI=38)
  • QoS - leave default
  • PCR - leave default
  • SCR - leave default

Click on Apply when done.

Step 10. Click on the Advancedtab at the top and then click on Advanced Securityon the left. Uncheck the Enable firewall and NATService box. Click on Apply whendone.

Step 11. Click on the Statustab at the top and then click on Connection Statuson the left side. The Connection information can be seen in the WANsection of the page.

Step 12. Click on Tools at thetop. Click on System Commands on the left. Clickon Save All to permanently save the changes.
