D-Link, a global leader in networking and connectivity technologies, has announced the launch of the all-new DMS-3130 series. The range of Layer 3 Stackable Multi-Gigabit Managed Switches is designed to seamlessly connect devices within a secure enterprise or Metro Ethernet access network.
The new switches support multicasting and enhanced security, making them the ideal multi-Gigabit access layer solution. Both new models in the series (the DMS-3130-30PS and the DMS-3130-30TS) boast two 10GBASE-T ports and four 10G/25G SFP28 ports to provide enhanced versatility and speed. The DMS-3130-30PS features sixteen 2.5G PoE+ and eight 5G PoE++ ports, perfect for high-performance Wi-Fi 6/6E access points. 802.3bt PoE++ provides up to 60 watts, allowing power-demanding devices such as video conferencing systems, building management devices, displays and lighting to be powered and connected through a single cable. In addition, the switches offer built-in 6 kV surge protection on all PoE and non-PoE Ethernet access ports, eliminating the need for external surge protection devices.
Designed for customers requiring maximum network uptime, both models support redundant power supplies and essential reliability features to enhance network resilience. Key features include Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ERPS), which minimises the recovery time to under 50 ms. For load sharing and redundancy backup in a switch cascading/server attachment configuration, the DMS-3130 Series provides dynamic 802.1AX Link Aggregation. Advanced Layer 3 features such as static routing, RIP/RIPng and OSPF enhance the network's security and efficiency, simplifying configuration and deployment, and providing scalability for larger networks and complex topologies.
The DMS-3130 Series also allows multiple switches to be combined to form a single physical or virtual stack. Stacking simplifies management and provides a single IP address to manage all members in the stack. Up to 9 switches can be physically stacked using DACs/fibres to offer up to 234 multi-Gigabit ports, increasing switching capacity with demand. Physical stacking enables agile expansion and redundancy, while reliability through fault-tolerant topologies ensures rock-solid connectivity.
"At D-Link, we understand that businesses are increasingly looking for ways to enhance their networks, whether in terms of speed, reliability or security," said Claude Chou, President of D-Link Europe. "With its enhanced reliability features, upgraded availability and flexibility, the DMS-3130 series is designed to support the demands of modern SMBs and enterprises."
