D-Link Showcases Next Generation Of Digital Home Solutions At Consumer Electronics Show 2004DVC-2000 won the TechTV Best of CES 2004 Finalist
At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), more than 100,000 industry professionals that support the consumer market got a glimpse of the future for the Digital Home in the D-Link booth January 8-11 at booth number 21865 in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Featuring an extended line of powerful Internet-based broadband video and digital phone products and a new line of networked multimedia servers and players plus AOL application content services, D-Link is bringing the Consumer Electronics and computer industries together and delivering innovative technologies and services for a generation of digital home solutions consumers.

D-Link showcased all of these Digital Home connectivity and convergent appliance technologies delivering a powerful emerging entertainment experience and pursuing a leading edge position for the 21st century in its booth at CES. The company demonstrated how devices such as home Internet security cameras, broadband videophones and wireless multimedia devices are embracing and integrating existing home appliances such as televisions, media center music players and speakers, furthering the promise of digital home.

"With our advanced D-Link Digital Home solutions, consumers can be connected all the time everywhere within the digital home," said Steven Joe, President and CEO of D-Link. "Integrated wireless network capability combined with new application development enables home users to have remote access from any station point throughout the digital home to a wide array of media devices, entertainment content and applications."

The industry has made significant progress in the development of standards for interoperability and D-Link continues to embrace these standards as a measurement baseline criterion in the development of new and innovative connectivity devices for consumers in the digital home. D-Link strictly adheres to the IEEE and ITU standards and is a key contributor to the Digital Home Working Group (DHWG).

Innovative Products for the Digital Home
To provide consumers with an engaging digital home experience, D-Link has developed a full range of product solutions for sharing resources and sharing multimedia content that allows consumers to interactively reach out to friends and family.

Digital Home Multimedia.
At CES, D-Link displayed a powerful networked wireless media center that includes a DVD player, a multi-format card reader and advanced content services such as AOL's Radio@AOL Web-based music service. The critical component here is the D-Link digital home access, internet devices and standard-based connectivity for consumer electronics. The D-Link digital home concept is completely distributed throughout the home, so no single device or PC controls everything. By allowing a powerful, flexible, feature-rich D-Link Integrated Access Device to act as the primary access point to the Internet, each component can exist in a peer to peer environment yet have centralized control for security to the outside world.

D-Link offers building blocks of components that are standard based and use existing home Consumer Electronic devices such as speakers and TVs to extend the digital entertainment system, as well as offering additional PC-based components like the D-Link Central Home Drive or D-Link Home Media Server for creating, managing, storing, and distributing content such as digital photos, digital audio and personal video. D-Link also displayed 5GHz wireless speaker adapters for streaming crystal-clear audio from a home entertainment system to distant speakers.

Digital Home Broadband Solutions
A wide range of broadband solutions including cable and DSL modems as well as wired and wireless routers and other devices were on display within the D-Link booth.

G Standard Wireless Connectivity
The complete line of award-winning D-Link Xtreme G 802.11g wireless networking solutions were on display that deliver 108Mbps bandwidth in the 2.4GHz frequency range. The new D-Link Xtreme G currently delivers the industry's fastest wireless network with excellent results and consistent data rate throughput, besting the 802.11b wireless by as much as 15 times while remaining dynamically compatible with 2.4 GHz 802.11 g/b products.

The Digital Home and Extreme Gaming
New D-Link connectivity technology delivers some serious capabilities in both high end performance with gigabit components at very affordable price points as well as high performance wireless connectivity products for both console and PC-based gaming experiences. At CES, D-Link demonstrated how the new Xtreme G, AirPlus and Express Gigabit connectivity delivers an awesome experience designed specifically for gamers and high-end power users.

Broadband Videophones
In the booth the Company demonstrated its new D-Link i2eye Wireless Broadband Videophone and 'Best of CES Finalist' self-contained i2eye Broadband Videophone, which easily create a digital videoconferencing environment that keeps friends, family, and business partners connected face-to-face. The wireless Videophone delivers high-quality IP videoconferencing without the need to run a network cable from the Internet connection to the television. The new D-Link wireless videophone works with any television* and broadband connection to capture and display real-time streaming video images at up to 30 frames per second.

Powerful Internet Security Cameras and Web Cams
D-Link unveiled a new family of powerful Internet Cameras that contain extended features such as Pan and Tilt, a CCD processor and fine ground glass lens with complete remote control capability of live, high-quality streaming video accessible from a web browser anywhere in the world. The new wired (DCS-5300W) and wireless (DCS-5300) Internet Security Cameras give users the ability to scan an entire room or office from top to bottom for the ultimate home and office security. The new D-Link Internet Security Cameras feature advanced Charge Coupled Device (CCD) sensor technology and a glass lens to deliver clear, crisp 640 x 480 resolution images even in areas of low light.
