D-LINK INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENT NOMINATED NEW CEO AND PRESIDENT OF HEADQUARTERS
Tony Tsao Appointed as New Chief Executive Officer and President of D-Link Headquarters; J.C. Liao Retires as Current President TAIPEI, Taiwan June 21, 2008 D-Link Corporation, the end-to-end networking solutions provider for consumer and business, today announced that its Board of Directors has promoted and appointed Mr. Tony Tsao as the Company's new CEO and President of D-Link Headquarters to resolve the retirement of current President J.C. Liao. D-Link’s new CEO will also continue to serve as head of D-Link International, managing primarily emerging market territories. The new appointment acknowledges the resignation of Mr. John Lee, current Chairman and CEO, from his CEO position and Mr. J.C. Liao, current President, from his respective position effective July 1, 2008. J.C. joined D-Link's Europe division 12 years ago before serving as President of the corporation in 2003. “We are fortunate to have a member of such caliber like Tony Tsao to accept this position,” said John Lee, current Chairman and CEO of D-Link. “His extensive background in networking business development and management capability will direct D-Link in continuing to grow and deliver all of its corporate objectives.” “Tony has been a core member of D-Link’s management team since appointed as D-Link International President in 1997. His efforts have greatly contributed to our emerging market’s success, serving primarily our enterprise and SME customers while also achieving cost-effective operations and a market leader position,” added John Lee. “Tony has had remarkable success over at D-Link International with his development of businesses in emerging market countries, and I look forward to his contributions over at headquarters,” said A.P. Chen, Chief Financial Officer of D-Link. “With his new position, I believe his leadership and experience will facilitate optimal integration of our front-sales efforts and back-end support for higher management efficiency.” Prior to joining D-Link in 1997, Tony Tsao worked at IBM for nearly eight years where he was a manager in charge of channel development in Asia region, followed by another three and half years at Digital Equipment Corporation for SME/channel management in the Asia Pacific region. He received a bachelor degree in industrial management from Ming-Chi Institute of Technology in Taiwan and his master degree in business administration from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago in U.S.A.
