Statement from D-Link Corporation
D-Link regretfully announces the passing of its founder, chairman and CEO, Mr. Ken Kao on April 2, 2008. He was 58.
Mr. Kao founded D-Link in 1986, when networking was still in its infancy, with a vision that networking would play an integral role in everyday life and business. After 22 years of hard work and success, Mr. Kao has provided this once modest company with a truly global presence. D-Link now holds offices in 58 countries with 100 sales and service offices, catering the D-Link brand to 170 countries. Under Mr. Kao’s guidance and leadership, the D-Link brand has become synonymous to quality networking.
Mr. Kao leaves D-Link in the capable hands of directors and members of upper management he personally trained and advised. Due to Mr. Kao's passing, a transition team has been established. D-Link will continue with normal operations. The company's board of directors will meet in accordance with corporate protocol to ensure the continuation of Mr. Kao's constant drive for increased shareholder value.
