and IP Telephony communications solutions in both voice and data.
Ethernet is the center of our core competency. It is a sophisticated technology that defines an efficient packet structure as well as high-bandwidth linking rules and methods. In its nature, Ethernet is scalable, powerful and very flexible. It is also used as the interface method for most standard connectivity and communications equipment. The popularity of the Internet combined with our engineering expertise and the user's need to get faster performance has created an opportunity for the Company to enter the market in a dominant position. The Company has engineered a connectivity initiative to enable it to expand by using its existing Ethernet core competency to leverage the design to data and voice communications. During the year, D-Link launched innovative communication technologies such as Broadband routers, gateways, cable and DSL modems, all of which are built with a core interface of Ethernet. In addition, the Company introduced its first voice communications products with IP Telephony gateways and telephone solutions, all of which have their foundation in Ethernet. We remain committed to developing and supporting Standards-based technology that delivers scalability and provides our customers with increased compatibility between systems and maximum interoperability towards dissimilar and emerging systems. |
