Unified Wireless

Unified wireless is a scalable wireless local area network solution that combines wired and wireless services. In contrast to legacy wireless networks that provide access via independent wireless access points or routers, unified wireless make use of centralised control policies that allow network administrators to manage the configuration of all access points.

When supported by a compatible wireless switch, administrators need only send software images to each access point and then apply the desired policy as a one-time configuration.

DWC-1000
The D-Link DWC-1000 Wireless Controller is a centralized wireless LAN management
appliance developed specifically for campuses, branch offices, and small-to-medium
enterprises (SMBs). It has the ability to manage up to 24 Access Points (default 6) and
a maximum of 96 wireless access points in a Controller Cluster. Its auto-managed AP
discovery and single point management allow customers to acquire an enterprise class
system without the burden of executing complex configurations. The DWC-1000 also
enables managed APs to block potential attacks from unauthorized users and devices,
especially for wireless environments.
