D-Link expands business Wi-Fi solutions with scalable and affordable super-fast Wireless Access Points

The new products - Dual-Band Wireless AC Unified Access Points - support the latest wireless technology to help small businesses upgrade and expand their wireless networks cost-efficiently

D-Link has unveiled two new Unified Access Points, designed to boost connectivity and wireless networking performance for Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs). The Wireless AC Selectable Dual-Band Unified Access Point (DWL-3610AP) and Wireless AC1200 Dual-Band Unified Access Point with External Antennas (DWL-6610APE) offer unparalleled Wi-Fi performance, connection speed and scalable flexible network management at an affordable price.

D-Link has also updated its bestselling Unified Wireless AC Access Point, the Wireless AC1200 Dual-Band Unified Access Point (DWL-6610AP), into a more attractive and slimmer design, allowing a more discreet installation.

With businesses increasingly dependent on fast, reliable wireless connections for laptops, tablets, smartphones, VOIP phones and other connected devices, these new Unified Access Points offer the easiest and most cost-effective way for small businesses to upgrade to Wireless AC. This allows them to boost wireless speeds, tap into the 5 GHz wireless band – where there is less radio interference - and also deploy a highly flexible, easily managed wireless network that can grow with their business.

Providing access to faster, high-quality Wi-Fi connections for a greater number of devices, the new products allow employees and others in the workplace to seamlessly browse the web and download files, stream media smoothly and use cloud-based applications quicker than ever before.

Key benefits include:

  • Better Wi-Fi for more devices - 802.11ac technology on the 5 GHz band means higher quality connections for more devices, providing greater throughput for each of a business’s wireless devices.
  • Ideal for businesses looking to migrate to Wireless AC - dual-band support for 802.11n and 802.11ac devices and up to 867 Mbps on the less congested 5 GHz wireless band.
  • Simple centralised management - up to 16 units can be grouped to form a self-configuring cluster. When deployed in conjunction with a D-Link Wireless Controller, up to 1,024 access points can be centrally managed to create an advanced wireless network that is self-organising, self-optimising and self-healing.
  • Multiple SSIDs - up to 16 virtual access points (DWL-3610AP) or 32 virtual access points (DWL-6600AP and DWL-6610APE) to be created from a single access point. This means that Wi-Fi can be separated out for different purposes such as; internal, guest access, POS equipment, electronics signage system etc.
  • Increased performance - Band steering technology and Airtime Fairness with Radio Frequency (RF), meaning wireless coverage is automatically managed centrally, increasing Wi-Fi performance for all devices, even if slower devices are connected.
  • Quality of Service – support 802.1p QoS for enhanced throughput and better performance of time-sensitive traffic such as VoIP and video streaming.
  • More attractive and slimmer design - the updated DWL-6610AP and the new DWL-6610APE measure less than 4cm in height, allowing the access points to be installed discreetly on the ceiling or the wall.
  • Eliminate dead spots and hard-to-reach spaces - the DWL-6610APE provides additional reach and flexibility by using detachable external antennas, allowing network administrators to fine-tune the coverage footprint.

These Unified Wireless AC Access Points are customisable by every business looking to make improvements to its wireless network. They offer the most cost-effective way to easily manage a fast, efficient connection, without the need to further invest in specialist networking teams.
