Multinational networking equipment manufacturer, D-Link, has announced that John Hsuan is to succeed Chairman, Roger Kao, as the company’s new global Chairman. The appointment comes in D-Link’s 30th anniversary year and signifies a new era for the Taiwanese multinational, which provides consumers and small to mid-sized businesses with smart networking infrastructure and networked devices, such as IP Cameras.

Mr Hsuan, an Honorary Deputy Chairman at global semiconductor foundry operator UMC, brings over 20 years of experience in the technology sector. He will lead D-Link’s global operations, which comprise more than 3,000 employees including 642 R&D personnel worldwide, and 185 sales offices in 65 countries. Mr Hsuan has declared his focus to be: “Growing D-Link’s brand value through deep attention to how consumers interact with technology, and uniting the company around a strong vision of excellence and lasting sustainability.”

Commenting on the appointment, Kevin Wen, President of D-Link Europe, said: “Mr Hsuan has committed to listening to our millions of European customers and recognising their role in innovation. This is important to us remaining a leader in a rapidly evolving market.”

Mr Hsuan will lead a team of executive managers, which aims to drive innovation and brand development at D-Link, and fulfil the emerging needs of the connected home in established markets, and the fast growth of network development in emerging economies.

Chairman, Roger Kao, is confident about handing over the reins after such a significant amount of time spent building D-Link’s heritage, stating: “Mr Hsuan’s appointment signifies a new generation of the company, driven by new ideas, aspirations and opportunities. I am confident that, with his leadership, D-Link will continue to innovate in the networked world.”
